Images that speak
Stories that breathe
About
Welcome!
I’m Chevelin Djasmy Pierre, an illustrator and visual storyteller based in Port-au- Prince, Haiti. Here I tell stories in images — pages where Caribbean light, everyday gestures, and the quiet dignity of faces become a shared language. I aim for the essentials: clarity of story, rhythm, emotion. I move between coffee, watercolor, pen and digital paint, depending on what each story calls for.
On this site you’ll find work for young adult, comic pages, posters, and book covers — different ways of putting images in service of education, memory, and inclusion.
Among my projects: Coumba Sow (text by Licia Chery, Éditions Visibles)—the true story of Coumba Sow, an Afro-descendant Swiss soccer player building her career in Europe, a tribute to resilience, sisterhood, and identity. I’ve also collaborated as
a children’s book illustrator with Éditions Deschamps. And I’m currently illustrating The People Will Rise (text by Ibi Zoboi, HarperCollins / Balzer + Bray, scheduled 2027) — a picture book that revisits Haiti’s revolution for young readers.
If you’re an editor, institution, teacher, or simply curious, take your time with the images.
If a story calls to you, get in touch — I’d be glad to see how we can bring it to life together.
